MOZZAN

What little I know of Mozzan is unimportant compared to the quality of the work. I'll tell you what I know....

A week ago, one of my art students, Manasa contacted me with the exciting news that his cousin from Uganda had sent him a number of paintings for me to see. Manasa was very exited about showing me the work and I asked him to bring them to class that day. When I unrolled this group of works on canvas, I was happily surprised to find these amazing oils on what appears to be flour sack cloth. The colors are pure and bright and the images portray the African experience in bold brush strokes and a beautiful simplicity. I am absolutely THRILLED that this wonderful student of mine honored me by entrusting Paul and I with these paintings. They are being priced to sell and will need to be stretched and framed, which we took into consideration.

Each 22 x 35" painting is $200 unframed SALE DOES NOT APPLY

We do hope to have a photo of Mozzan in the future along with some biographical information.

I know from experience that in areas of Africa, materials are difficult if not impossible to come by. The people do not waste anything and these paintings on the back of grain/flour sacks (most have these markings but some do not) illustrate that perfectly.
